Introducing Advanced Network Topology Discovery

The latest update to Network Topology Discovery takes network visibility to the next level. We’ve added tools to streamline device discovery and classification, tackling Shadow IT head-on.

Features Include:

• Identification of all MAC addresses: Our tool detects and lists every device’s MAC address, providing a complete inventory of all network-connected devices. 

• Retrieval of corresponding IP addresses: When available, Shadow IT retrieves and displays the corresponding IP addresses, giving you the full context for each device. 

• Pinpointing device location: Not only does it detect devices, but it also pinpoints the exact switch, port, and VLAN to which each device is connected—ensuring you know exactly where each device resides in your network. 

• Device manufacturer identification: Each device’s manufacturer is automatically identified, helping you quickly assess the type and origin of the connected hardware. 

• • First and last discovered timestamps: Know when each device first connected to your network and track its presence with timestamps that show both first and most recent discovery events. 

With flexible table and graphical views, you can sort devices by custom statuses like authorized, under review, or unauthorized—making it easier to detect and act on potential risks.
