The new i-Vertix Troubleshooter helps administrators efficiently check, analyze, and optimize monitoring configurations. Plugins and their outputs can be directly verified and adjusted as needed—without having to test every change immediately in the production system.

Using the integrated “Plugin Help” function, thresholds and filters can be tested before activation. This ensures that configurations work correctly before they are deployed to the production environment.

The module also significantly improves diagnostic capabilities. Many plugins now support debug and verbose modes, allowing queried OIDs and their values to be displayed in real time. For REST API plugins, HTTP requests and their responses, including status codes and cookies, can also be viewed.

All functions are available directly via the Management GUI—access to the poller’s CLI is not required.

Advanced diagnostic tools

For more in-depth analysis, the Troubleshooter provides additional network and system tools.

A simple ping can be used to check whether a target system is reachable. Traceroute displays the network path to the target system. Telnet enables verification of open ports, while tcpdump makes incoming packets visible on the central or poller system.

These tools help identify and resolve network and infrastructure issues more quickly.

All available tools are provided as a curated collection of preconfigured command-line tools. They are prepared with the most important parameters and allow only whitelist-based commands to ensure usability and security.

Feature overview

The i-Vertix Troubleshooter offers the following functions, among others:

  • Display of debug and verbose outputs from plugins
  • Adjustment of thresholds and filters in real time with preview of results before exporting the configuration
  • Adoption of host information or credentials from existing devices for defined utility and SNMP commands

Available utility commands

The integrated diagnostic tools include, among others:

  • ping
  • traceroute
  • nslookup
  • telnet
  • tcpdump
  • wget
  • curl
  • route
  • df
  • lsblk
  • top
  • uptime
  • chronyc
  • snmp (snmpget, snmpwalk)

More efficient root cause analysis

By using these tools, network issues can be diagnosed and analyzed significantly faster. Administrators gain direct insight into system states and communication processes and can identify the cause of disruptions more precisely.

The added value of the i-Vertix Troubleshooter lies particularly in making the entire monitoring and diagnostic process more efficient and transparent.

Key benefits

Real-time troubleshooting without testing in the production system
Plugins and configurations can be immediately verified and adjusted without having to test changes directly in the live system. This reduces risks and saves time.

Pre-validation of thresholds and filters
With the “Plugin Help” function, configurations can be validated before activation, allowing configuration errors to be detected early.

Advanced debugging functions
Debug and verbose modes enable detailed analysis of actual queries and values. For REST API plugins, HTTP requests and responses can also be monitored.

Centralized management via the Management GUI
All functions are available directly in the graphical interface. Access to the command line is not required.

Integrated network diagnostic tools
Tools such as ping, traceroute, telnet, or tcpdump enable rapid analysis of network communication and infrastructure.

Optimized workflows
Through faster analysis and fewer trial-and-error processes, errors can be identified and resolved more quickly.

Enhanced security
The preconfigured tools allow only approved commands, thereby reducing potential misconfigurations or security risks.
