A WSUS server can also act as a source of updates for other WSUS servers in the organization. In a WSUS implementation, at least one WSUS server on the network must be able to connect to Microsoft Update to obtain information about available updates.

- Computers: The total number of client computers or devices that are registered with the WSUS server.
- Updates: The total number of updates available in the WSUS server’s update repository.
- Approved Updates: The number of updates that have been approved by administrators for deployment to client computers.
- Declined Updates: The number of updates that have been explicitly declined by administrators.
- Not Approved Updates: The number of updates that have not been approved for deployment to client computers.
WSUS Computers Status:
Allows administrators to ensure that client computers are receiving updates as expected, troubleshoot any issues with update deployment, and maintain the overall security and compliance of the network.
- Computers Up to Date: The number of client computers that have successfully installed and are up-to-date with all approved updates deployed by the WSUS server.
- Computers Needing Updates: The number of client computers that have pending updates awaiting installation.
- Computers with Update Errors: The number of client computers that encountered errors or issues during the update installation process.
- Computers Not Contacted: The number of client computers that have not communicated with the WSUS server within a specified timeframe. These computers may be offline, disconnected from the network, or experiencing communication problems with the WSUS server.
- Computers Unassigned: The number of client computers that are not assigned to any specific computer group within the WSUS server’s organizational structure.
WSUS Synchronization Status:
Refers to the process by which a A WSUS server refreshes its catalog of available updates through synchronization with Microsoft Update servers or an upstream WSUS server. During synchronization, the WSUS server retrieves information about new updates, including metadata, files, and classifications, from the source server.
